About My Services

What medical services can you provide?

With an extensive background in veterinary medicine, I am qualified to provide advanced clinical support in a home setting. My technical capabilities include, but are not limited to, the precise administration of oral and topical medications, ophthalmic drops, subcutaneous or intramuscular injections, and the specialized management of nasogastric (NG) feeding and medication delivery.

How do I care for pets in your home and/or your client's home?

My care approach is strictly tailored to each pet's unique needs. For high-energy dogs, I prioritize physical exercise and mental stimulation through extended walks and interactive play. For senior pets, I focus on comfort and mobility management—this includes assisting them with stairs, providing gentle companionship, and ensuring their meals are prepared for easy consumption.

Describe a typical day?

A typical day with me is centered around a balanced routine of activity and relaxation. We begin the morning with physical exercise, such as a long walk or a game of fetch. During the day, I focus on mental enrichment by using puzzle toys and frozen lick mats to keep your pet stimulated and occupied. If I notice any signs of separation anxiety, I utilize calming music or pet-centric media to create a soothing atmosphere. My evenings are dedicated to quality companionship—I love to wind down with plenty of cuddles on the couch, and I am always happy to have pets sleep in bed with me so they feel safe and at home.

What is important to know about your pets ahead of time?

To ensure the highest level of care, I require an initial meet-and-greet to confirm that your pet feels confident and comfortable in my presence. I prioritize routine consistency, as maintaining a familiar schedule is the most effective way to reduce separation anxiety. Additionally, for your pet's safety, I request a comprehensive overview of their medical history, including allergies, current medications, and emergency veterinary contact information.

About Sky Halliwell, The Pet Butler

A resident of the Twin Cities since 2016, my professional journey began in human emergency medicine as an EMT. My passion for animal welfare eventually led me to the veterinary field, where I spent years advancing from Veterinary Assistant to Clinic Supervisor. This background provided me with deep expertise in animal health, behavior, and the complexities of clinical management.

I eventually chose to pivot from the fast-paced clinic environment to professional pet sitting to offer something the traditional veterinary industry often lacks: dedicated, one-on-one attention. This transition allows me to bring my specialized medical skills directly into your home, ensuring your pets receive the focused, high-level care they deserve in a stress-free environment.

Because of my extensive clinical background, I offer a level of expertise that goes far beyond standard pet sitting. I am fully proficient in administering oral medications, eye drops, injections, and nasogastric feedings, and I am highly experienced in the specialized care required for exotic species. My mission is to provide your pets with expert, medical-grade attention while ensuring they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you are away.

"Sky was great watching our girls. Both our girls have different personalities and needs and Sky was able to both play with them and take care of their daily eyedrops and oral medications.

Sky also left our home spotless when she was finished. She made us feel comfortable leaving our girls in her hands and we'll be sure to have her watch them again in the future."
